Thanksgiving Break Residence Hall Closing Information - Break Housing Options Available

The following message was sent to all students living in the residence halls: 

Thanksgiving Break is on the horizon. Please review this information to help you plan and prepare.

The residence halls close for Thanksgiving Break at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 22. All card access to halls will be deactivated at that time. Residence Halls will reopen at 10:00 a.m., Sunday, November 27.

NEED BREAK HOUSING?

North Campus Residents (except Elkton, Johnson-Whittle, & Pyon-Chen Halls)

All North Campus residence hall access will be deactivated at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 22.

A limited number of Elkton Hall lounge spaces will be used for North Campus residents who need break housing accommodations. Priority is given to international students and those with extenuating circumstances. Approved residents will be placed in a lounge with up to five (5) other occupants for the break period. The temporary break lounge housing cost is $76.00 and will be billed to the student’s account the week after break. The deadline to request temporary break lounge housing is 12:00 p.m. (noon), Friday, November 18.

Elkton, Johnson-Whittle, Pyon-Chen, & South Campus Residents

Residence hall access will be deactivated at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 22.

Residents who live in Elkton, Johnson-Whittle, Pyon-Chen, or any South Campus halls may request to stay in their current assignment for the entire break. If approved, residents will continue to have card access throughout the full break period. The cost for full break housing is $152.00 and will be posted to the student’s account.

One-Night Only Requests

Residents who are unable to leave on Tuesday night may submit a request to stay overnight and leave by 9:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 23. If approved, card access will continue until 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 23. There is no cost associated with this overnight stay. Card access will deactivate promptly at 9:00 a.m.

Break Housing Requests

If you need Thanksgiving Break housing, either One-Night Only or for the entire period, please apply no later than 12:00 p.m. (noon), Friday, November 18, through the Housing Portal.
