Looking for ways to reduce costs.

The 2024-2025 Cost of Attendance Breakdown has four areas that i’ve identified that maybe I could reduce costs: 1) books and supplies, 2) standard fees, 3) personal expenses, and 4). transportation costs.

I know these are just estimates, but is there a further breakdown of each of these as to how UMD arrived at these estimates? Or are there any suggestions on how we can reduce these costs?

My son is a CPS and will be staying on campus. He’ll be majoring in information science.
